Interested in judicial independence? Very honoured to contribute to Daniel Newman's "Leading Works on the Legal Profession" (Routledge), where I will look at the situation of judges under Francisco Franco's authoritarian rule and the judiciary's continued struggle to investigate Franco-era crimes in the 21st century. The book will be part of the book series "Analysing Leading Works in Law" for which leading scholars select and analyse a ‘leading work’. In my case, this will be the work on judges by the sociologist José Juan Toharia.
